SIMON ORTIZ was born near Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is a Puebloan writer of the Acoma Pueblo tribe. He is one of the most respected and widely read Native American poets.



OREN LYONS is a Native American Faithkeeper of the Turtle Clan of the Seneca Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy.  Once a college lacrosse player, Lyons is now a recognized advocate of indigenous rights.
